THANK YOU!
There are many selfless people in our midst and as a club we want to pause for a moment and say THANK YOU. For those of you who have gone above and beyond common effort for our children without hesitation or fear THANK YOU. The offers of help and assistance from those outside of our own community has been nothing short of amazing and has allowed the assembly of this organization in such an unimaginably short period of time.
Thank you to the NBJFL board and its members for seeking solutions over excuses to assist our children in returning to play as permitted by the governor under the state guidelines. Thank you, to our brothers and sisters of the grid iron in River Dell, Washington Twp. and Mahwah for their extended hands of help.
Below is our

Covid Cancellation Policy
(Amendment 8/17/20)
Board release
The Paramus Athletic Club appreciates the trust that your family has placed in our partnership and for your registration in the club's inaugural 2020 football season. As explained previously in our cancellation policy the custom equipment that your son has been fitted with and ordered can not be returned. Therefore, the club policy of NO CASH refunds remains.
So what's changed?
After careful consideration the board has amended the covid cancellation policy as follows:
Should by executive order , the governor cancel our ability to play a minimum of 4 games this season the following club policy will be applicable.
Underclassman (Grades 1-7)
Your son will recieve a free registration for the 2021 SEASON.
(Registration credit has no distributable cash value and will remain non tranferable)
Seniors (8th Grade)
Unfortunatly 2020 will be your sons last year of eligibility in our football program but your investment into the PAC family has lead us to come up with a solution for you too. As such, the club will lauch a "Buy Back" Program for our senior families should the governor cancel our ability to play a minimum 4 games this season. Any unused non personalized item will be eligible for the "Buy Back" offer.
So what if equipment does get used?
Once used, ONLY helmets and shoulder pads will be eligible for "Buy Back". After the items are reconditioned a refund of fair market value will be issued. This will allow you to recuperate a portion of the 2020 registration/equipment expense. This "Buy Back" program will become in effect should the season be canceled prior to playing at a minimum 4 games as stated above.
****There is no "Buy Back" eligiblity for any club member other than a registered senior.
COVID-19:
Governor’s Executive Order
Allows Contact Sports to Resume Immediately
Posted Monday, July 20th, 2020
Order Effective for Outdoor Sports Only
Gov. Phil Murphy has signed Executive Order No. 168 to allow for the resumption of contact drills and practices, and competitions, to resume for “high-risk” sports.
Under the Governor’s EO, which is effective immediately, practices must be held at outdoor venues ONLY. All sports also will have to abide by state health and safety protocols.
The Governor said the Executive Order would allow resumption for sports such as football, rugny, lacrosse, wrestling, martial arts, boxing, and cheerleading, among others. All sports, including youth, high school, and college teams, would have to follow guidelines outlined by the state Department of Health, he said.
Guidelines include, among others, limited sharing of equipment, requirements for regular disinfecting and sanitizing of equipment and training locations, and regular COVID screenings of coaches, athletes, and staff.
“We do feel confident that in an outdoor setting, and with proper health and safety protocols in place — and being followed — that these sports may be responsibly resumed,” said Gov. Murphy.
Governor Murphy had signed Executive Order No. 149 on May 29, allowing organized sports to resume on a phased-in schedule as defined by the Department of Health as “low,” “medium,” and “high risk” activities
A great article:
At times it is easier to find fault rather than to handle adversity but Coach John Wooden has some simple advise for us all.
How to Handle Adversity:
Don’t Whine, Don’t Complain, Don’t Make Excuses.
November 29, 2016 / Craig Impelman
The core of Coach Wooden’s philosophy started with his father’s rules. Joshua Wooden gave his boys a very direct set of rules, the “Two Sets of Three” he hoped would guide their everyday behavior.
The first set dealt with integrity: Never lie. Never cheat. Never steal.
The second set of three dealt with how to handle adversity:
Don’t whine.
Don’t complain.
Don’t make excuses.
The finest teaching tool we have is the example we set for others, and how we handle adversity can be one of the strongest ways of demonstrating our character.
In Coach Wooden’s early life, his father set an example that had a very significant impact on him. Joshua Wooden had purchased some pigs as an investment for the family farm, but their expense necessitated that he take out a mortgage. He also purchased vaccinations to keep them healthy, but it turned out that the vaccine was bad and the entire herd died as a result.
Later that same year, the crops were destroyed by a drought; unable to continue paying the mortgage, Joshua Wooden ultimately lost his farm to the bank.
Yet without any ill words for the man who had sold him the bad vaccine, Joshua moved the family to a nearby town where he took a job as a masseur. Young John Wooden knew that these events had devastated his father’s spirit and broken his heart, but Joshua would never blame others or dwell on mistakes. He lived by the same set of rules that he bestowed upon his sons: “Don’t whine, don’t complain, don’t make excuses. Just do the best you can. Nobody can do more than that.” That story, and his father’s example, deeply impressed itself upon John Wooden’s mind.
Years later, he would find himself recalling his father’s attitude when the poor facilities at the UCLA basketball facility bothered him. For the first dozen years of his coaching career there, this poor attitude really held him back as a coach. When he resolved to stop complaining and to simply make the best of it, Coach Wooden noted that his success greatly improved.
Coach devised and collected a number of maxims regarding the best way to respond to difficult situations. They are great triggers that you can use with yourself, your staff and your team to rekindle a positive attitude when the going gets tough.
“Bad times can make you bitter or better.”
“Never make excuses. Your friends won’t need them and your foes won’t believe them.”
“Things usually turn out the best for people who make the best out of the way things turn out.”
Coach Wooden said, “Complaining, whining and making excuses just keep you out of the present. If your complaints are constant, serious and genuine about your calling, then leave when practical.” By handling yourself in such a way through difficult situations, you will not only find your own outlook improving, but you will likely inspire those around you, too.
History tells us, Great leaders, great coaches and great players will simply find a way through adversity to succeed.

Success, Is measured in many ways
Is Winning Important? Yes!!
However, it's the growth and development of every player that
is paramount to our program.
Fundamental skills and the ability to excite players to
gain a passion and want to play the game, THAT'S what is most important.
Good coaches realize that you can't play a team sport without a team.
It is the program with a continuously developed
bench that will continue to succeed. That's how dynastys are built.
Webster defines the word "Program" as a planned series of future
events, items or performances.
