
BRLL Parents,
We needed to make some changes of where players will be assembling due to the new cages installed. Please see below. The ceremony will now take place on field 1.
Opening Night is Friday, February 27th at Sugar Sand Park. It will be a fun-filled evening with entertainment, Pizza for the players, our traditional parade of teams, ceremonial first pitch, and fireworks. At the end of the ceremony, we will randomly draw 8 lucky teams to play 4 games under the Friday night lights! All divisions, EXCEPT Coach Pitch and Seniors, will play a game. Players in all divisions except Coach Pitch and Seniors should bring everything they need to play a baseball game that evening.
Please leave all gear in your vehicle until your team is drawn to play.
We ask that players arrive at Sugar Sand Park dressed in their full little league game uniform between 5:15 and 5:30 PM; please do your best to arrive on time. We have over 600 Little Leaguers to feed and organize for the parade.
All players will assemble with their teams on Field 4 (Coach Pitch & AA) & Field 3 (AAA, Majors, 50/70) for a quick pizza party. Parents are encouraged to drop their player and proceed to field 1 to find their seats in the bleachers or on the grass surrounding the field. If you hang around fields 3 & 4 you will not get a good view of the parade. The parade of teams will begin at 5:45 PM, starting with our Coach Pitch division and ending with Intermediate.
Teams for the evening games will be selected around 7:00 pm. If selected, your players should proceed directly to their designated fields while parents retrieve their players’ gear from their vehicles. These Friday night games will replace the game scheduled for the following day. All teams that were not selected will play on Saturday.
It’s a special night for our Little Leaguers where they get to feel like Big Leaguers, get your cameras ready for some great picture opportunities. We would love to see everyone stay after the ceremony to watch our very talented Little Leaguers in action!!

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS (STARTING SPRING 2025)
Florida Statute 943.0438 now requires volunteers or employees working with youths to submit electronic fingerprints and a waiver for a level 2 background check. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and FBI will receive your fingerprints and maintain them along with your results in the Volunteer and Employee Criminal History System (VECHS). Disqualifying offenses can be found under Florida Statute 435.04
This is separate from the JDP background check required by Little League. BRLL has contracted with local Nonprofit Spirit of Giving Network to provide this service to our volunteers at a reduced rate of $60 per volunteer. UNFORTUNATELY, for 2025, volunteers will be responsible for paying the $60 fee out of pocket. BRLL will continue to work on reducing this fee and will build it into enrollment for future seasons.
Spirit of Giving Network will provide their fingerprinting service at Sugar Sand Park during player evaluations. If you cannot attend evaluations or enroll after, you can schedule to have it done at their office (APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR OFFICE VISITS)
