Board Meeting Notes 2/16/13

 

The NC/SC Adult Baseball League held their 2nd Board meeting of the 2013 season on February 16th 2013 at Buffalo Wild Wings in North Myrtle Beach. In attendance was Greg Allen(Pirates), Michael Darnell(Hurricanes), Stephen Ward(Rangers), Dale Albreicht(Irish),Tim Jones(Rip Tides), Dean Kent(Crush), Jamie Steele(Bombers), Anthony Schibilia(MB28+),

 

 

An update on teams as well as collection of team deposits were first on the agenda with all teams paying a part of the 2013 dues ($3500). A few players are still needed in both the 28+ and 40+ divisions and hopefully most of those will be filled in next weeks new player workouts.

 

A couple of budget items were discussed one being that Mike Darnell is handling getting baseballs for the season. Cost will be app. $35 per dozen. Also discussed is if we want to use part of our proceeds from the Memorial Day tournament to have the league championship games at Pelican Stadium. We decided to have coaches discuss this with their teams and see if they favor this or waiting and use the money at a later time when all teams can play at the stadium.

 

 

We discussed teams having enough pitching to play 2 nine inning games in a week and the decision was made that we would play 9 innings with the coaches also being able to make an alternate decision amongst themselves.

 

 

We briefly discussed the opening day party. Michael Hernandez has discussed this with a couple of establishments and is still working on it. Dean Kent suggested talking to Remedies Sports Bar since they have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as being a sponsor of one of our teams.

 

 

Next was our Memorial Day Tournament update and Dean mentioned that he was having a pig picking at Remedies that Saturday and that everyone involved is welcome. Mike Darnell is still working with the city on how many fields we will be able to secure with a minimum of 3 at this point.

 

We discussed next weeks workouts and plenty of the guys said they would be able to attend to help out as well as the managers that need players will be there.

 

Next Board meeting will be April 6th at which time final team money will be due. Time and place will be decided at a later time.
